Description

MTV's 16 and Pregnant' is an hour-long documentary series focusing on the controversial subject of teen pregnancy. Each episode follows a 5-7 month period in the life of a teenager as she navigates the bumpy terrain of adolescence, growing pains, rebellion, and coming of age; all while dealing with being pregnant.

Each story offers a unique look into the wide variety of challenges pregnant teens face: marriage, adoption, religion, gossip, finances, rumors among the community, graduating high school, getting (or losing) a job. Faced with incredibly adult decisions, these girls are forced to sacrifice their teenage years and their high school experiences. But there is an optimism among them; they have the dedication to make their lives work, and to do as they see fit to provide the best for their babies.

5Teen Mom - Addicted  Oct 07, 2012 By S. Fairbanks
While I am a grown woman and have a career, I am addict to Teen Mom. I feel as though they have become part of my life. Two of the four mom's frustrate me and I find myself yelling at the screen, but that is part of the fun. These ladies have a tough road ahead of them becoming mothers so young and I hope the future looks kindly on them.

2Shows that screwing around puts you in a tough life  Jun 12, 2014 By JULIE ZIEROTH
Pregnant at 16, is definitely hard. I think this show has too much attitude from the teens to their parents.

It always shows the dad not being a good dad. What about some of these girls not being stand up moms.

3Good to watch when you need something not requiring brain cells  Nov 08, 2013 By Lee Keith "Lee"
I only watch this at work during lunch breaks to pass the time - since I'm currently pregnant with my first child but not a teenager (that is nearly 12 years ago!), this is just guilty pleasure watching and knowing that I'm glad I waited!

3I also liked the part where Jiro gets caught lying to Isabella's ...  Dec 24, 2014 By Jordan Marques
It was hilarious when Jennifer was nagging her ugly goon boyfriend until he pushes her out of the car and leaves her on the side of the road. I was laughing so hard! I also liked the part where Jiro gets caught lying to Isabella's parents about not graduating high school. Seriously, if these girls are going to get knocked up why can't it be by a responsible guy? These girls really have some low standards in men. The guys in this season are particularly ugly and it should give hope to ugly, losers everywhere that they can breed with relatively attractive females. Stupid, ugly, losers seem to be the ideal mates for girls these days.
Society has degenerated Music Television into this awful, yet beautiful mess of a show that only exists because pathetic losers like me want to watch to feel better about themselves. This is MTV and I hope an earth shattering comet hits us very soon. Our society is pathetic for allowing something like this to have a fourth volume.
Music videos have been replaced by this garbage, but I have never watched MTV so much before! Even when they played great shows like Aeon Flux and Singled Out, I never watched this much MTV!
Seriously, a lot of the guys in this show aren't even teenagers so how are they not in prison for knocking up a naive, stupid 16 year old? In one episode the guy was obviously over 18 years old and the girl was 16 and pregnant. Why is this guy not in jail right now? Is there some kind of stipulation wherein the state neglects to prosecute the guy because rendering him unemployable as a registered sex offender is not in the best interest of the child?
Most importantly, this show is a blessing because it conveys to all of the baby crazy teens out there that life with a baby sucks. Not one of these girls end up happy at the end of the show. The moron who knocked them up always leaves and they are left sobbing because they were too stupid to utilize the 90 forms of birth control available to them. There hasn't been an accidental birth since 1955. They get knocked up on purpose because they want to trap the guy. Business as usual for a female.
