Lauren Conrad - Beauty Oct 16, 2012
This is a great book for someone who is not that adept at makeup/hair etc, but is not really for someone who is more experimental and advanced with makeup. Lauren herself admits to playing it safe with her makeup. If you like Lauren's safe classy chic look (who doesn't) then you will like this book. I myself knew what the book would be like and expected the natural makeup tips and wavy hair and braids tutorials. This isn't breaking new ground or anything, but it's a fun read, with basic informative beauty tips.

A disappointed LC fan Oct 24, 2013
-The pictures and design of the book are very beautiful. Very similar to Lauren's Style book.
-She also includes models of different backgrounds and modified versions of her of how to do her everyday look, which was a very nice touch.
The make up looks and hair tutorials in the book are nothing remarkable or unique. The skincare tips were so common sense, like LC just sat down, Googled "kewl skinkare tipz", and copy-pasted these right into her book. I was expecting to see recreations of the fun looks she's worn on the red carpet. The signature "party" make up look is exactly the same as her everyday, all she does differently is stick on some red lipstick, individual false lashes, and a thicker winged liner.... really Lauren? For the hair chapter, she includes a how-to for beachy waves, a "pinned back" look (AKA two small front sections twisted and joined together in the back), a simple top bun, a curled ponytail, and a few others... All which are simple looks you can find a thousand tutorials of on the internet. I was hoping to see some of those cute updos Lauren has worn in the past thrown in the hair chapter, but there aren't. Her section on nails and braids are a joke to say the least.
I do not recommend this book. Save yourself some extra bucks and just watch beauty videos on YT, and do some research on skincare. LC's makeup artist Amy Nadine and hair stylist Kristin Ess have a blog, you're better off just looking there for your makeup and hair needs. And if you are truly dying to read this book though, just wait to borrow it in your local library.

Good tips and tricks Oct 22, 2012
This book was significantly better than LC's last book "Style Guide." It's too bad she didn't put that one out now after she had done a little more growing. My personal look is constantly evolving and changing and LC's book is full of great tips and tricks for those still in a learning curve when it comes to this beauty business.
My only problem with "Beauty" and with her last book "Style Guide" is this; Lauren's so-called personal anecdotes. She constantly drops names (expensive brand names that is), or tries to say she can relate to not being able to find a nice outfit...right. When's the last time LC was struggling to find something "nice" at Sears, or Walmart? I just wish she'd stop with those..

You get what you pay for Dec 26, 2013
By Ornella Dian
Nice pictures...but there isn't much content that someone wouldn't have already known who wasn't a total beginner. If you have read women's magazines or follow beauty blogs I don't think this book will bring up anything new for you. But then again... The kindle version was only 2.99 so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Beautiful! Apr 02, 2014
Great book for those interested in a polished appearance without looking like a streetwalker. I highly recommend for teens and those new to makeup.
