Description

Part 1: It's a whole new world for 'The Hills' star Whitney Port, as she packs up and moves from the comforts of her hometown in Los Angeles, California, to the bright lights of Manhattan. With a great new job at global design house, Diane Von Furstenberg, a best friend from her past and a guy she's head-over-heels for, Whitney is taking a huge chance at a brand new life.

Part 2: When Whitney Port moved to New York City she quickly found that she had it all: the job, the friends, the boyfriend, the apartment. But in New York, things change overnight. Now Whitney is taking a chance on her dream of becoming a designer, under the critical eye of Kelly Cutrone. She's single, dating, and settling in to a new place in NYC's West Village, but an old friend from Los Angeles is about to show up, looking for a job, a place to crash, and a life just like Whitney's. Meanwhile, Olivia Palermo has wasted no time parlaying her promotion at Diane von Furstenberg to a new position at ELLE Magazine. But soon Olivia is partnered with a young, ambitious upstart who is determined to make sure that Olivia doesn't get a free ride on her name and social status alone. It's back to work for the girls of The City. New jobs, new boys, new friends, New York.

5The City Season 1  Jan 18, 2011 By Erin Glover
As a former fan of The Hills, The City was a show I didn't begin watching until it the second season. Unfortunately, that was the last season ; ( I truly enjoy The City, and find the `behind the scenes' of the fashion industry to be quite intriguing! I certainly recommend this show for those who have like interests.

5The City: Season 1  Oct 05, 2012 By SPA obsessed "Kitty"
Very inspirational for those wanting a career/business in the fashion industry. Most characters are in their 20's, unmarried, no children & focused on getting established in life. Whitney, the main character gets a bit down sometimes, but continues pursuing her dreams. The show has a bit of many things such as business, drama, friendships and relationships. If your a "go getter" in life then you'll enjoy watching others strive to make what they want happen for themselves.

"Invite your friends over for The City nights!" Go get your popcorn & snacks. At the end of the night you & your friends will be motivating eachother to go after that career/business they want.

This show is NOT for anyone who doesn't care to make a decent living & lives revolve around drama. There is NOT enough drama in the show for those type of people.

5I love Whitney!  Apr 29, 2013 By Tokina Harris
I was so excited when MTV gave Whitney Port a spinoff show. She's so ambitious and so not superficial. Either reality or scripted, I fully enjoy watching her real life trials and tribulations and transitioning into becoming what she always wanted to be. Very inspiring.

3Poor Substitute for "The Hills"  Dec 21, 2011 By Pursemaven57
I really wanted to like this series because Whitney was a favorite character of mine from "The Hills". The storyline of all fashion was just not compelling enough, and wasn't that believable. The characters were quite one-dimensional. It is watchable only because Whitney is a very sweet and good person, and you want her to succeed, but it isn't likely that such a sweet person would succeed in such a dog-eat-dog business of the fashion industry. Where are Heidi and Spencer when you need them?
