Washington Heights' follows a group of best friends living, working and playing in the diverse New York City neighborhood of Washington Heights. Having grown up just blocks away from each other, they all share special bonds that feel more like family than friends. While fiercely proud of their community, they sometimes struggle to push past the confines of their upbringing in order to carve out bright futures for themselves. And despite obstacles that threaten to stand in the way of their dreams (aspiring fashion designer, professional baseball, hip-hop artist, poet), they always have each other's backs.
'Washington Heights' is ultimately a celebration of friendship, neighborhood pride and making your way in life while having a good time along the way.

This is better than any reality show I've ever seen Feb 01, 2015
This is better than any reality show I've ever seen. Why isn't a show like this more popular than The Jersey Shore? I liked the people of this show so much. They are genuine artists, each and every one of them and very down to Earth; authentic representations of themselves and their neighborhood. Reality TV is so often scripted and unnatural but that's not the case with this show. It has charisma, drama, love, laughter, family, friends, the ups and downs of life. I loved this show and I think it's a shame it only ran for 1 season but glad to have watched it. I would love a follow up, to know how they are all doing now.
A Really Good Reality Show without the Usual Crazy Drama! Apr 22, 2015

Washington Heights is a really good MTV reality show with an extraordinarily likable cast. Many are talented, all are loyal friends. The show focuses on second generation Millenials and their families from the Dominican Republic who live in the Washington Heights section of New York City. Without qualification, the show offers a feel good story about young people, their aspirations, hopes, loves and loves lost. It is refreshingly without the drama of standard reality programs. Originally aired in Spring 2013, Washington Heights was cancelled after its first season. While Jersey Shore and Buck Wild were heavily marketed by MTV, Washington Heights was not accorded a viable time slot nor upfront and broad marketing. Instead, the network shifted the show's slot later and later until it lost it's audience. It's unfortunate that MTV pulled the program before the audience found the series. But, for the nine or so available episodes on Amazon, Washington Heights is well worth watching. Since binging my way through the series, I've been really curious about where the cast members are today. And, frankly, with me, that never happens ... until Washington Heights.
Life in a different situation Dec 15, 2014

This reality show was unusual for someone my age to watch. I wanted to see how growing up in a depressed neighborhood affected the young people. This brings out the emotions and drive for a bright future are the same everywhere. It's just much harder when there is only one parent, divorced parents or no parents. The strength of these youth and the support and love for each other was outstanding. I finished it really praying that they could achieve their dreams.

Just not my style May 09, 2014

bad bad bad I'm sure they pick the actors just because of how diverse they were and that they were all artist types. How do they get money to survive. Not one working person in this show. It appears that the producers guided the show to try and make it more interesting.
