Fun, even if you don't watch any of the shows on MTV Dec 09, 2011

I've had the privilege of playing this game a number of times at a friend's house, and I have to say it's actually a lot of fun. I usually find Karaoke games get old quickly, but this game has a lot of content beyond karaoke, and the added video aspect really makes it stand out. I spent a few hours with my friend just acting stupid, recording stuff, and uploading it to share with other friends.
You can choose to follow a scene verbatim (the dialogue scrolls on the bottom just like lyrics in karaoke), or you can make up your own words and change the context of the scene completely. I've never watched the reality shows on MTV, but I must say that I really enjoyed saying horrible things to the Jersey Shore cast while they went on with their own scene. I think at half the price of a standard game, it's completely worth your time and money to check it out. Plus, they seem to release DLC pretty regularly, so you won't be short of new songs/scenes to play with.
My only complaint is that the motion controls on Kinect are challenging for menu navigation, and they haven't implemented the controller support for that yet. But I find that to be a general problem with the Kinect, anyway...
I intend on giving a copy to my Aunt who bought a Kinect just to get up and have fun with her grandchildren throughout the winter. Do yourself a favor and at LEAST give it a rent to check it out :).

This game brings lots of laughs! It's very fun. The only reason I didn't give it a full five star review is because it don't have much to choose from. It does have several shows to put yourself in but like for instance "Teen Wolf" only has 2 skits. Also the picture once you are in the show could look better but damn it's still so freaking fun you just don't care!

Few games come around and make people forget that they are playing a game. This is one of those games. Press "Start" and you will be transported to the world of Music Television (MTV). Such scenarios include acting in "Jersey Shore," "The Hills" or even singing in a Lady Gaga music video. The fun doesn't stop there as players can enjoy the game with friends and family. The game is also great for the gamer who has an inner thespian or is a daring dancer. Have you ever dreamed of accepting a "Moon Man" award or hosting "Total Request Live?" If the answer is "yes," then this game is for you!

Had such a blast playing this with my friends this past weekend!! We love to karaoke and this is just a million times better than that! It's so cool seeing yourself in the actual show!! And there are so many different ways to play too- you can play the scene straight or totally make up your own stuff and just have a blast. There are tons of scenes to choose from and you definitely don't need to be an avid MTV watcher to enjoy this!
